that is a good shoot. good to see people getting snows. I've been hearing them in my sleep for about 9 months.

Yes it is a drake Pintail.  It was a great day hunting everything went right for us out in the wide open tidal flats.  I had fun taking Dfarley and his son out the snows were just north of us and as a few went to the fields sometimes they would fly over us and low enough.  The big candas came over and we were again lucky enough and in the right spot to take one.

I'll give you $50 if you tell me which bird on your tailgate is a hen mallard.

C'mon guys, learn to id what you shoot before you pull the trigger! :bash:
hey, where's Professor Chaos? Anyone seen him?

I can assure you that I most certainly id them before I pull the trigger.  There is a mallard hen (1) under the goose. I make it a practice to teach my son ethical hunting practices.  I mistyped earlier. :twocents:

are you talking about the duck right next to the greenhead on the left hand side? If so tht is 100% pintail, I dont see a hen mallard but i do see 2 pintails in the pic.

tailgate shots are always better when you hide the mystery duck under the geese!

2 pintails in the pic, that's all we're saying.

I see 2 pintail drake bill's. Duck ID can be tricky, especially on young bird's, especially on the wing. Been there, done that.
