I have settled on the speer hot cor. it is 13 bux for 100, I have taken all varieties of game and the performance has been perfect. the beauty of the 270 win is that every bullet made was designed for its velocity window. it dies not require the latest greatest bullet.......step up to the 270 wby and it is pretty easy to overdrive a speer or similar and have less then great performance on close shots. I have tanke stuff from litterally 10 feet to farther then you will believe all with good results.  I have loaded the berger, tsx and fail safe also, but none gave me the accuracy of the speer, so that is where I stay. if you get any bullet to shoot sub moa constantly, go with it and fill up you freezer.

i shoot 150 grain nosler partitions with i believe 51 grains of H4350.  worked beautifully on my deer last year and my bear this year.  i have no idea what the velocity is on it, but its real accurate in my gun.

I use 53 grains of IMR 4831 with a 150 grain Nosler Partition and large rifle primers.  It is a pretty mild load, with velocity around 2700 fps (estimated) and it gives about 1 MOA in my Remington 700 Mountain LSS.

Just loaded IMR 4831 54,55,56 grains 150 gr Nosler lR accubonds. My rifle has a long throat and shot 150 gr partitions with 55 grains for 25 years. It will be interesting what the chronograph says.

I have used 57.0 grains of IMR-4831 with 130,s since 1982.  This load is from nosler load manual no. 1. I never  got less than 3,000 fps with this load using a variety of different bullets. All from a 22 inch barrel. Acually I have used IMR-4831 with 140,s and 150,s as well. Could not be happier with IMR4831. It flat works for me. In case any one wonders did I use a chrony back in 1982. The answer is yes I did. Looking at some of my old data I noticed running the 150 sierra game king at 2990 with 56 grains of IMR4831. 150 PT,s run 2950 with the same charge. 3100 with 130,s is doable as long as a fellow starts low and works up.  :) :) :) :)

IMR 4831 has worked for me and the family for years . My .270 loves IMR 4831 . I could careless if my .270 ever shoots over 3000 fps .. I care more about accuracy ..Some guys want speed and some guys want to dot eyes .If you can have both then more power to you ...I prefer the 140 gr and will never go back to a 130 ..Just has worked much better for me ..Made that change about 35 yrs ago and never looked back  :chuckle: just my  :twocents:

Prepped a bunch of WIN Brass last night. only culled 12 cases from the original 100!!!

Sized them, trimmed back to min case length, de-burred the primer pockets. Weighed them...WOW...was really suprised with the results. Sorted them at 187 grains +- 1 grain...

When you say you culled 12 cases, what cases were they factory brass reloads or new win brass?were they cracked?

Reason That I ask is I have been having quite a few crack on me lately,Factory brass then reloaded.
You must first be honest with yourself,Until then your just lying to everyone.
