Pointing Labs

I just returned to hunting last year. Mostly due to health reasons. I got out several times around Royal City and Crab creek. I was without a dog and the hunts were not very productive. Certinally nothing like I remembered. I have been thinking about getting a dog. I have spoke to a few people and just started to do some research. I am kind of interested in a Pointing Lab. I phesant hunt and do some Duck hunting also. I am hopeing to do a little grouse hunting next year but that is a little more demanding so we will see. I am looking for your input on pointing Labs and how they stack up against other breeds. I have found a couple places that have Pointing labs so I am looking for any opions on them. One place is Tiger Mountain Pointing Labs.

i have only hunted upland game once, it was a guided hunt and the guide had a pointing lab, as far as im concerned it did an excellent  job getting on point and then flushing the birds out, it was really cool to see it work.

I haven't heard anything about tiger mountain labs, but I think ryan at long hollow setters worked there for a while and if that is true then I think that you will be happy with them.  Ryan worked magic on my pup.

I met with John Greer @ Tiger Mountain Pointing Labs 2 years ago when I was having my lab trained.  He's a good guy adn seems to run a good operation.  I went with Doug Burnet @ Cook Canyon- also in Ellensburg becasue I didn't want my up fore fetched.  They're both good trainers, I doubt you could go wrong with either.

I'd highly recommend talking to Doug at Cooke Canyon also. If you want to hunt over a pointing lab before you buy one, ask for a guided hunt using Hornet.

I just got a pup from an accidental breeding who's parents were from Tiger Mountain.  She's had some bird exposure and some experience with a professional trainer who had very good things to say about her.  I compared pointing lab to brittany and went with the lab.  Our dog has to be a good pet and house dog in addition to hunter.
I am pleased with her at 4 months.

I had my GSP trained at Tiger Mountain. Ryan was working there then and he did the training. She is solid as a rock. I would highly reccomend both John Greer  at Tiger Mountain and Ryan at Long Hollow Setters.

thats one of the funniest things i have heard in a long time ROFLOL

one of my labs, will get birdy and her tail will slow down as she gets closer and almost come to a stop. i don't encourage it or want pointing labs myself. i have sold several pups that have become pointing labs. tiger mountain has some nice dogs.

I have had 2 of Cooke Canyon pointing Labs and both are awesome.Doug and Alice have some excellant lines and are proven pointers.

hmm, that's a good point. Maybe a English Setter? imagine the dread-lock look of red setter hair all kinked up Chessie style!
