636 blacktail down
« on: October 28, 2010, 04:02:02 PM »
First time poster here. I got this Buck last Saturday in the 636 unit. He was in hot prusuit of a good looking doe. He followed her into a clear cut where I had been waiting for at least ten minutes. :chuckle: I used a Remington 700 LTR in .308 shootning Federal 165gr BTSP. @200yds. I used a buddys buck cart for the first time, and I see a purchase in my future. It was a Great day for me.

This pic was taken with a cell phone. My brother took some with a regular camera. I will be glad to post them when I get them.

Nice buck, love them really dark antlers
To hunt and butcher an animal is to recognize that meat is not some abstract form of protein that springs into existence tightly wrapped in cellophane and styrofoam.

First good one down, now its time to start thinking of next year and bigger deer.
You don't need a flatter shooting rifle or a larger caliber. What you need is good field marksmanship. Jeff Cooper.

Nice Buck!
I own the same rifle, but have not used it in the field. I use a 700 SPS .308 w/leupold 3x9 V-ll.
