Awesome! Congrats! Any pheasant in WA is a good pheasant! Good feeling hunting with you doggy! I run a pair of Chessys and they do well. Amazing how much bird dogs just "know"!
I felt like a one legged cat trying to bury a terd on a frozen pond!

yeah it was great.... especially after his incident on cultus mountain/walker valley (took off for a week in the hills after a rabbit)  still is a little gun-shy so he doesnt retrieve yet, but when i shoot, he doesnt try to run and hide under the truck anymore.... but once you get his mind back on birds (you only have to say the word bird...) he goes and points out the kill... i was hunting the samish release site/reserve, and at the end of the day, i chatted with the guys releasing the birds, sad to know its thier last release for the samish site, but man its an awesome feeling knowing when i got him, he was an infant puppy the size of a potato and raised him to a full grown functional hunting dog... anyway time to go eat  :IBCOOL:  mmm roast pheasant, wild rice, mushroom gravy and green beans

When did you see them release birds. I had the headquarters tell me October 12th was there last day of releasing on the Samish unit but my dog got up 14 birds on Wednesday. I knew they had released that day or the day before. This state can't get anything right.

Yeah, they said Oct. 12th on their website.  I wonder what the real date is?
