Rat in Iraq
« on: October 31, 2010, 06:44:21 AM »
Well after a few attempts with my blow gun I finally hit one of the Rats I have been Baiting just at dark.  He jumped up and sqeaked while reaching back and pulling out the dart then ran under a crate and I listened to him sqeak away his last breathe.  Must have been about 30 sec or so.

I'm not sure if baiting big game is legal over there, bro.  You'll have to check the regs.

Its almost a necessity, lack of tree's makes hound hunting a real bugger.

You should get it on video!  Might make the Outdoor channel, it would be more interesting than the deluge of turky hunting over the summer!

Thanks for your Service!

Hey BRO, be carefull I hear WDFW trained the IRAQ Dept. of fish and wildlife. I don't see a tag on that animal yet. I wonder the penalty for not tagging your rat, 6 more months in country?

I would caution you to check the regs, I see no turban on that rat. I have not studied iraqi laws, but imagine that only male rats may be taken......just a heads up.

thanks for your service!

lol when i was there, our tent was infested with mice. we had the regular size traps. the mice would just eat the bait right of the trap without setting it off. so we traded for some smaller ones. the first night we here snap. then a bunch of thrashing. we run to the back corner of the tent to see a rat that with tail included had to be 14 inches long. he had the small trap snapped on his face. we had to stomp him out. never thought of the blow gun. tat woulda been a good way to pass the time.
