life is funny sometimes...
« on: November 01, 2010, 05:42:00 AM »
I had the chance to watch two big bulls last week and the week before in an area that I have never seen a soul in while deer hunting.....never did see a big buck. I packed back into the area for the opener of elk and to my surprise, I could not find so much as a cow, let alone the 320 or 335 bulls I watched for several hours the weeks before. I was able to watch a 180" mulie and pictured several smaller bucks including a buck that would not leave my camp..... I named him dum dum. I get home to find out that my friends shot 2 cows, a 5x5, a 3x3 and a 1x2 right behind my house........I had my pick of any of them, but HAD to go find a super bull.....lol. oh well.........so it goes.

Youre not alone Brother. My last year Elk hunt was about the same, all the Elk I seen was on a farmers land (3 bruisers in that 43 head hurd). He only gives permission to his son and friends to hunt the land :( . So while looking elsewhere I come nose to nose with the biggest Blackie I have ever seen in my entire life, a 7x7. WTF!!!
