Place to hunt on the westside
« on: November 02, 2010, 09:33:00 AM »
I am stationed at JBLM and recently returned from deployment. I am looking for advice on where to hunt for elk on the westside. My buddy and I could use any help that could be given to us. Thanks for your help.

Winston GMU 520 will be packed but the most Elk are taken outta there year after year. I wont be there for the fact of how many people hunt it but for someone just getting started.......

Somewhere in southwest Washington would be your best bet. Wish I Could be of more help, but if I knew a really good spot with very few other hunters, I'd be there myself. As the previous person said, you can't go wrong in the 520 GMU. Unless you want to get away from people. In that case, you'd be better off going where there are less elk. Perhaps you could try the west side of the Olympic Peninsula.
