All in all it was a pretty good weekend of elk hunting for us. We seen a 4x4, 5x5 and a spike, but we couldn't close the deal on any of them. We also seen tons of cows and calves.
The 4x4 and 5x5 were both up near Noble Knob and those were the only elk we seen up high. All of the cows and the spike were down off the 70 Road and 7100 line in Hancock. We only heard of 2 bulls being taken all weekend, so I am glad the weather is starting to change.
The snow is starting to fly in the higher elevations, so I am wondering what the best way is to hunt Buck Creek. It looks to me like the bulls would come down the drainages along the 7160, but I also heard that they use the Suntop Trail a lot when getting out of the park. Any suggestions?
