new hunter and weyerhaeuser st. helens tree farm
« on: November 08, 2010, 08:25:12 AM »
I was thinking i might head down to the weyerhaeuser st. helens tree farm this upcoming weekend, and maybe at least get to see an elk, maybe bag one.  any recommendations for that area?  certain regions that are known to have elk traffic?  not lookin for anyones little spot, but some tips on the area would be nice.  am going to get in touch with seattle location listed that's supposed carry maps of weyerhaeuser land and hope they have some maps on hand still.

thx.

Spent alot of time in the St. Helens tree farm during early archery, most roads were gated and locked. Hunted/hiked many different access points and saw elk on most of them, Headquarters road, Ostrander, Rose Valley, Kalama river road, 1900 road (kidd valley). Take your pick, alot of elk in the area. Can't wait to get back out for the late archery season ;).
Good luck.
