Congrats on a great bull.  Shoot be nice and tasty.  Just a word of advice however, when you're packing your elk out during modern season I would HIGHLY recommend drapping your hunter orange over your bull.  There is a high percentage of irresponsible idiots running around with loaded weapons that time of year that shoot at anything that even closely resembles an elk.  So for the purposes of safety make sure you look as much like a pumpkin as possible.  Just my    But again congratulations on a job well done.

I was thinking the same thing. I have seen several pictures on the threads of people packing out their elk "horns-up" with not a blip of orange. Man, what a horrible end to a perfect hunt if someone were to get shot because some yahoo deciedes to shoot into the bushes  when he sees legal horns walking through the woods. Be careful out there!
