Haray for your points!! Whoopee!! That was your main motive, plain and simple. You didn't do it because it was against the law, you did it for the points. Good for you, I'm sure you need em'.....

Who cares why he did it.  Do you question why someone turns in a murder suspect for a reward?  Thanks for helping to catch a poacher.  i don't want to know your motivation because it's your actions that count.

well POPE, I see it every day, a animal worth more than a human. Molesters, murders, rape of a child, etc getting released, while people are wanting poachers locked up. Give me a break..... Hope you get that permit!!

257...

I've defended quite a few poachers, molesters, rapists, and murderers in my time as a lawyer.  While I'm not proud of every aspect of my profession I do enjoy my job.  I see it every day.  Very rarely does a molester, rapist, or murderer go free.  That's just what the media wants you to believe.  Poachers RARELY get locked up.  That's reality.

I encourage you to follow the post "Chiwawa Poachers Caught!!" as I will keep everyone informed as to the sentence these poachers will get.  Without our pressure to the judge and prosecutor, they would get no jail.  I am hoping they will.  After all, the one individual is one of the biggest game violators I have ever seen...should you deserve jail after continuing to commit game violation after violation?  I believe this individual has more game violations than you can count on your fingers and toes.

Working in the corrections field for the last 10 years, believe me, they do get set free, quite often. Lets not talk about how they get pled down to lesser charges either. I know Shawn, I see it everyday...

Great job coonhunter! I'm pretty sure if they were out working for the state on a problem bear the game warden that showed up would have been the first to know about it. Hunting is a privilege hopfully they lose there's if convicted

257, if you are working in the corrections field, I am truly surprised at your comments.

Turning in illegal hound hunters is the right thing to do. As sportsmen, it is our responsibility to stand up for game laws, not ignore violations of them. I wouldn't hunt if all hunters ignored the laws in this manner. We need order, not chaos.

OK...did I miss something here????  I've went back and read all the post to this thread and I still can't figure out where 257 is coming from.

Coonhunter saw what he suspected was a game violation and did EXACTLY what the WDFW wants us to do, which call it in if your not sure.  He calls it in, the game department comes out there and arrest the guy.  Bang....what's the issue, 257?  I don't see anything in Coonhunters post implying he has been waiting around to turn someone in just to get points.  I don't see anything in his post that says the game department came out there and told him the poacher was actually working for the game dept.   It's obvious from the information we've been given that the guy was poaching otherwise the game department wouldn't have arrested him.  Whether he actually gets convicted or not, is definitely another story.

So I fail to see why 257 is coming down on Coonhunter.....

You have no need to defend yourself Coon.  You did EXACTLY right.  I hate the attitude of today when folks are turning folks in trying to get them in trouble for their own gain.  HATE IT!  It reminds me of communist Russia.  HOWEVER, this seems blatant and stupid.  If he is doing it legit, then the game department would surely know about it or be present.  I don't think this for the sole gain of points.  I personally don't like the mentality of getting points for turning people in.  I think that could encourage the attitude above....but.....its an incentive for going to the trouble of doing it.   NO MATTER why he did it, but he had seen this bear and had been interested in watching it, and the next thing you know there is some guy trying to kill it illegaly.  Would you turn him in, or help him pack it to his truck?

Thats chicken*censored* of you guys to send nasty e-mails to his home.

Gamewardens told me that houndmen CANNOT use hound for damage control or for timber forest land. Thats why they give out almost 500 hunter draw tag to go hunt spring bear. UNLESS if they attacked people and they will ask special houndmen for help. Thats why they use more TRAP trailer out there to respect people. I aint believe houndmen what they said about special permits or work for Gamedepts. I have talked and asked many questions and they dont offer anything! They said try apply the draw only. I may be wrong Because it wouldnt be FAIR for another houndmen. I would be pissed off if they offer someone else to go help and not me thats why they dont do it anymore. There is two DEPT that own hounds to help control and they do it themself. Native did some more often for State not us. I get so JEALOUS when houndman start to be COCKY that they getting permit to hunt bear for damage control so I asked state how can I get my name on list wait and they said no there is no list wait for houndmen. So they are obviouly POARCHING and cover it up a LIE. Dallas treed Janes in Cle elum was because Gamedept asked him to pursuit only and reduce Special draw points that he want to do it. Its his Choice to loose his points for pursuit for Gamedept. Thats how it work. Thats why NO ONE want to Help Gamedept because they will take their POINTS OFF.

WTF!????
Correct me if I'm wrong on what you are trying to say here. I have had plenty of depradation permits over the years for foresters and have killed bear for them. I beleive I have a copy of one of the permits I can show you. They do have permits for depredation and they do have a list of hound hunters that they call from. Its not a special draw its guys that get the job done. So dont post false info please, you must have either understood wrong or you did not ask the right question.

bucklucky is correct. I've seen houndhunters hunting bear on private timber land many times. I hope the Gamewarden didn't tell you that. What a dandy...
