CAUGHT POACHING!
« on: April 05, 2008, 12:29:30 PM »
 >:( Yesterday, My wife and I saw a hunter truck with dogs on top of box passed our ranch and I got funny feeling going on so we waited for one hour later all sudden truck was moving really fast by again and we start to wondering what is going on so we drove down there found truck parking and look like his hound striked and on loose chase bear. Becuase we have seen bear around this locate few times now so My wife roll down window and listen to see if any hounds barking out in forest. She hear few barks way over the hill so we called Gamewarden soon they got here catch him with 6 hounds all collared  and RIFLE GUN!  :bash: I cant believe what he was doing yesterday in a forest. Gamedept is now Held Him.  :bdid:  :bdid:  :bdid:  BUT  :hello: SCORED 10 POINTS

Sure. If you took the pic. As long as it is not slanderous I don't see a problem.

How can they prove he was chasing bears? Wouldn't he have just said he was coyote hunting like they always do? Or 'coon? How do you know you're getting 10 points? I thought they had to have a conviction before the 10 points are awarded?

Bobcat you cant have dogs collared in the mountains right now. Coon closed March 15th so that makes it illegal. I have no idea about how the points work.  I was up mushroom picking yesterday and found a dead bear. The whole body was there. It had been ripped apart by what i guessed coyotes but it is all there. First time ever finding a dead bear...

You sure he wasn't Native American, they can still run bear with dogs, they don't have any restrictions on them at all.

Too bad for the bear he got, especially if its the one you were watching.  Awesome for the points.  I have some ideas for you right up your neck of the woods if you would like a hint or two.

Yeah but some of these hound hunters are on damage permits or helping the game department with troubled bears, cougars, etc.  I think some people are too fast to call the department when they arent for sure if there is wrong doing.
