Have not had much time to much scouting out willapa bay... Been spending most my time out one the Columbia, just wondering if the birds are i'n....

Not yet. not much by way of ducks yet and the geese are holed up on private ground still. Mid-late dec is usually when it really picks up

That's What i was afraid of... I'm going up there this weekend to go check out some spots ,
I got high hopes, the Columbia out of browns mead has been getting hot i'n the evening but it seems like most the ducks are moving right at dark and threw the night..... I had at least 25-30 mallards land on us just out of shooting light...

There should be some birds heading down with all the weather. Give it a go. It's always an experience down there.

went out yesterday. only managed to bring two widgeon in. Nothing flying yet. Need the birds to move down.

Just got back, between four guys got nine mostly green heads saw lots of birds, they were flying all day. Got my first ducks ever today was a good day.

for guys that know the willapa....what is the smallest boat you would recommend for the Willapa?
I know that there have been more than a few deaths on the water there.... I need to upgrade from my dinky swampthing and have wondered what a good size would be for down there...

Never maid it up to willapa bay ended up getting permission to hunt some fields off the Columbia witch worked out got my limit of big honks cacklers and green heads plus and low and be hold one was banded it's my first one i was like a kido on Christmas... It was banded on Sovies island i'n July of this year
