Cherry Valley!!!
« on: November 19, 2010, 09:28:35 AM »
i've decided to head out to cherry valley today before work. i do not expect to see anything but am going crazy at the house. hopefully i jump a snipe or two to keep me entertained. i havent been out there in years and im not sure why im going back. no deeks no dog and probably no duck call... as you see i have a stellar hunt plan for today. i should be out there by 1030... good start. anybody have reports on the birds in the valley?

Good luck.  There were some geese trying to land last time I was there but with all pheasant hunters in orange they moved on.

nope i didnt bring dekes. i barely brought my gun... ha but ya i was on a smaller pond and should have pulled a limit out of there but instead just wasted some shells and got cought with my pants down once... next time i may bring a 6 pack of dekes just because but had i not shot right away i would have had live decoys on my pond, so maybe ill go without deeks again... either way i had fun.

two more green heads out of the valley! theyre sitting on my deck right now waiting for me to breast em out. unfortunately my camera is packed somewhere for my upcoming move but i saw hundreds and hundres maybe thousands of birds pour in on my walk back to the rig at dusk... snow scared off the pheasant hunters i believe cuz i was one of two hunters that night... ill be back.
