rem 700

I have owned many since 1977, and never had a single problem.

rem triggers don't like to be oiled or dirty especially when it gets way cold. if you are having an issue blast it out with cleaner and blow it dry as a first step.

I assume your refering to that show that was aired? I can't help but wonder if those triggers werent messed with.    I've never had an issue with mine.

I have three Remington model 700's and one Remington model 721. Have not had a single problem with them.

I've had a lot of 700's and never seen a bad trigger in one.

Ditto..... I have two 700's in 7mm Mag and 300 Win Mag and no issues.

I've had one for 35 years and never had a single problem.  I downloaded the instructions from Remington on how to adjust your trigger pull years age and it works perfectly.  I love my 700.

my first gun was a 308 Rem 700. I was out target practicing one day and had my brother with me, I had the gun pointed slightly towards the ground and about a 45 degree angle from my brother and pushed the safety forward and BOOM!! Scared the crap out of me. It happened on a few other occasions as well, then the gun was stolen from my home in a break in. That was about 30 years ago. All my guns since then have all been Rem 700's and I have never had another incident. I always have my gun pointed safely when pushing that safety forward though. I will say this, if I had known this had always been a problem with the Rem 700, I would never have bought another one.

I was at a range last year when a guy just down from me switched off the safety on his new 770 .308 and put a bullet in the ground about 3 feet in front of him, scared the hell out of all of us.

The inadvertent discharge issue with the 700 was addressed in a recall several years ago. If you have an older 700 you might check with Remington to see if it needs the safety recall mod. My 700 30-06 is 47 years old and I never had a problem with the trigger or safety.

dirty remington 700 ML muzzleloader that I adjusted too light.  Once I adjusted it back a little heavier, no problems
