The same goes for camo as for scentlock. If it makes you more confident, it works for you. I've been just as close to deer and elk in jeans and a t-shirt as I have dressed in $300 of camo. And I've been busted in both as well. Really don't think you can fool an animals nose. Cover scents help, but if they're down wind, you're done. :twocents:

I have a jacket but don't wear it because it's uncomfortable.  My favorite tactic is to rub natural scent on myself, Pine Boughs, Sage, Step in cow crap...whatever it takes to help cover my stink.  I don't use scent eliminator, i use cover scents.  I suppose they sell things that smell better than cow $hit, but I'm too cheap to buy it.

yeah i do that to , but i am always looking for a one up that i can get on any situation....

And my jacket i have is really comfortable, granted it was really expensive, but i like it. The one i have is sort of a cold jacket. So it is really hard to hike in it anyways and then be ok after sweeting in it and sit in the cold. so i hike with out it and then rap it on when i get to my spot. works and most the time i have some other type of camo on my upper half so i see no use in using it while im on the move....

Im looking for a lighter jacket something that i can wear when it is a little cold but not cold enough to wear my other jacket. ill probably get another scentlok jacket...

CHJ, Your taking their lure; hook, line, and sinker.  It's like these diet pills; "Take our magic pill, then eat three sensible meals, cutout all sugar, workout 60 minutes a day, 5 days a week, and you will lose weight".  Well if I'm eating right and working out, then what do I need the pills for??? Same with these clothes; Wash your body with scent free soap, wash your clothes in scent free soap, store them in scent free bag, pack them to your stand and then put them on once you've stopped sweating, spray down with scent free spray and then don't move.  Well if I'm doing all that, what do I need the scent-lok for???

To re-activate carbon it needs to be heated to over a 1000 degrees Fahrenheit in a low oxygen environment, which means you could throw that scent-lok coat in the campfire and it's not going to get reactivated.  Definitely not happening in a dryer or microwave.  It's a hoax, plain and simple!

Blacktail,
you hit the nail on the head. The science just does not add up as advertised. Just like all those "millions" of gallons of "Doe" urine sold every year that is one hell of alot of does in heat just in time for packaging. The number just do not work.
Only 2 defining forces sacrificed themselves for you:
The American Soldier and Jesus Christ. One died for your freedom, the other for your soul.

He trains my hands for war and my fingers for battle.

CHJ,  then what is the point of this thread???  You already said you bought a jacket.  Do you just want some people to pat you on the back and tell you what a nice purchase you made?

You will never ever fool an animals nose with those gimmicks.

Look at drug dogs and how minute drug odors are, yet they smell them every time, even when they are heavily packaged in all sorts of plastic, foil and coffee.

Deer and elk have noses similar to dogs. Do you really think you can fool them with some expensive spray on spritzer or by wearing a charcoal suit????? All the scent crap on the market is a huge kick in the ass (not to mention wallet!) from scent manufacturers to ignorant sportsmen.

How do you get the human scent out of your breath, your nose, your butt crack, your boots, your scalp etc. Yeah sure, some of it works and helps us smell better to OUR weak sense of smell, but you CAN'T cover up your scent no matter what you do.

I don't care what you wear or what you spray on your clothes, person, or gear...., if you don't properly hunt the wind, you are going to get busted by game.

x2 what Fosteology said......it was once told to me by an old timer that we can smell bread, but a deer can smell each ingredient and how much of each there is in that bread.

x3 what blacktail said???
