haha. Yes it is a small world. I thought those bulls looked familliar! Gregg Hampton's property borders ours, (Pearson). There was alot of nice bulls and a few monsters that wintered between Hampton's and our place back then. The WDFW took care of that though. Too many tags for that area and as a result most of the bulls are gone. Don't get me wrong, I'm not blaming the tag holders at all. Heck I would have loved to shoot one of those big guys! Where did your dad shoot that 2003 bull? Was that on hampton's too?

i was wrong about where my dad shot his i thought it was by hampton's. He took his bull on Zimmerman's property where the 2 monster bulls were taken durring my hunt. but yeah very thankful for Gregg Hampton and every1 who let me have the opportunity to hunt their land. only had issues with 1 person who let us have permission cuz his brother was out almost everyday durring my dad's hunt to chase away the elk onto his property.....oh well tho i was fortunate enough to get the bull i got thanks to a great bunch of guys and a great bunch of land owners

I didn't mean to rant but the original poster said they couldn't get permission in many spots.  THIS IS PURE BS!!! If a farmer receives one penny for damages then they should HAVE to ALLOW ANYBODY to hunt their property. The same exact thing happens in the Teanaway. The farmers are surrounded by elk country. They piss and moan to the WDFW. They get money from the WDFW and also the special seasons are late to help keep the elk out of the farmers fields. But the farmers wont let anyone hunt there. So the hunters hunt off the property pressuring the elk TO the farmers property causing more damage. Its a cycle caused by stupidity and greed.

Is it not true? I do not believe he was throwing turds at anyone but wdfw and a few greedy or anti hunting (or both)farmers. You saw what I posted about Stemilt basin orchardists and I stand behind it.
C E and I don't agree on a few issues but on MOST we are together.  I don't think any of it was pointed at you or your elk. Nice animal by the way. I'm with your Dad,over 40 years also.  I kick myself in the ass for not buying property up there 30 years ago!!

Gregg wasn't throwing turds. I was responding to your story talking about how some people wouldn't let you hunt their property even though that is what that hunt was designed for. It was a statement of fact illustrating how it was jacked up they wouldn't let you hunt.  It wasn't meant to be negative it was a statement of fact.

mybad colockumelk i obviously took what u said the wrong way and u are correct it is BS. farm owners who have any damage issues should be more than willing to let a tag holder harvest game on their property but unfortunately there are farm owners out there that are unwilling to. they have the opportunity to control the damage but dont want hunters to harvest the damagers. oooh well tho sooner or later they will figure it out
