Fishing guide in Alaska!
« on: April 11, 2008, 07:56:13 AM »
This is a long shot but I thought I would post this. I just found out that one of my guides will not be able to return to Alaska for the 08 season.
So I am looking for a potential fishing guide to work in a remote wilderness flyfishing camp in Alaska.
Applicants must be a team player with a good work ethic and attitude and be willing to learn. Experience in flyfishing and powerboat operation and rowing in a river is preferred although I am willing to train the right person.
The job starts in early June and we finish up in early September. Wages depend on experience. My guides make good tips and I provide round trip airfare from Seattle. You can check out my website at alaskaflyfishingcamps.com This is a great opportunity for the right person.

P.S. Mods- If this is against the rules just nuke it!

i would be way interested, but my good g/f has a hard enough time turning me loose for three months to go to montana. if i did go, she would be liable to leave me. if i was single again, i would do it or try to in a heartbeat

and to think I was going to compose a note to you asking if you needed a flyfishing guide this summer...that leopard trout made me think about what I reallywanted to be doing....man, I would love it, but its kind of hard to give up a career for.  DANG what an oppurtunity for someone.

It really is a great opportunity for the right person. Most of our guides have been with us for years. You have to have another job or passion that keeps you busy in the off season for it to work for any length of time. Some of the off season jobs for some of my crew are Hunting guides, Ski lodge/ Ski Bums, Teachers, and some are College students. We don't mind training someone as long as they plan to be around for a few years. Thanks

My son would be perfect for your position.  He lives in Juno and is a monster outdoors man.  He's a little crazy, but I think most Alaskans are after a while.  He is great with people and very respectful.  If your position is still open I could PM you his contact info.

Here is a reference link to one of his You Tube Videos.  (Capt. Steele) is his stage / screen name.  lol
