Awesome photo and great write up Scott.  Nice looking cat, I might have pulled the trigger on that one the way WA has the permit system set up, good on you for holding out for what you want!  Did you get a chance to run that male pup?  If so, how did he do?  Is he ready to be a lead dog yet?  :chuckle:

Yes I took Pup on two leader run on Female and Pup went all way to tree with them Once. He is learning. And I will spend more time next time.

I found out today its 2 female left met quote.  :o  I better decide to PULL Trigger next time. Might not be a Trophy. But I will try. Maybe 140 Who knows.  I will see..

Dude...you've still accomplished a lot this hunt. If  a 140# lion makes you happy then fire away. Congrats on an awesome hunt regardless of how it works out.

Scott, Just wanted to say your persistence and dedication is phenomenal. Been reading this thread everday hoping you tree the big one. Also want to say if you do bag a 120# it would still be a experience that will last a lifetime and a fine trophy.

I've got a good feeling with all this snow were getting, it's going to be mulehunters time to shine.....if that sled is up and running!  Anyhow, Best of luck getting that big ole tom.  Some of the best cats I've ever seen didn't weigh squat, but had melons that were incredible.  After all, the head is the main attraction on the wall, right??

Thanks  Over Years I became Houndman, I have not put a Bullet in Cougar. I have passed WHOLE Cats I treed since five years on Pscr, 5 other permittee to go with as doggerhandler. and two years Idaho Permit.  Its my passion. And old man have taught me everything how to be GOOD Houndman and not about shoot every Cats down. We wont find any Trophy like Bucklucky ( Charlie ) He shot a one of BEAUTIFUL Cat.  I remember I took Grant's son Cougar Permit for Ferry County and I went up first weekend and we had trouble getting in someone rancher and abort hunt. Next weekend. I went up scouting and Cut a BIGGEST Trax I have ever seen. I was thinking about go back and pack hounds and the permittee the 12 years old. Geez. What am I thinking...

12 years old kid doesnt Deserve this Cat. It look like 160 to 170 Cat to me at the time. I dont know if He can afford mount a BIG Cat. I dont want him BRAGGING whole his life about how he work so hard for this Cat. But I talked to two other houndmen I know and told him, You wont believe what I cut. OH MAN! I wish I have permit! I would have go NUT!!!! But I didnt want 12 years old kid to know I cut one so I Lied to him that I didnt find anything. So They end up ran out of money and not interested going up since they dont own Hounds.

Later After I got home and Charlie (Bucklucky) asked me how it go over there since He knows that I am helping Grant's son and I know Charlie have the permit. I Email him and told him there is BIG one somewhere over Sherman Pass area then two weeks later. He went up and fill his BEST Cat in Washington.

I am glad I skip this cut for someone else who are houndman waitting long time for this one.  I wish it was me.  :bash:   :chuckle:    But I am happy that I skip it and let the other houndman permittee deserve this trophy.

Thats what I am looking for everyday just like this Cut.

Congt to you Charlie!

My TURN!!!  :(  But I know there wont be a BIG cats like Charlie in Okanagon County. Because Whole Houndmen shoot all Females make it big loss for all Kitten. Sometime People doesnt know if kitten around and end up shoot and pick up the cat and hold as weight 50 to 80 lbs.

The reason I love hounds is because I can look at all Cats I treed and give me more time to look at Cats and give me idea how He look or how big or small.  If Mother Cougar, I always walk thur backward where she come from. If She made a two or three jumps to avoid kitten and to keep hounds chase on Mother to protect kitten.

Sometime People think this first tree and look around tree no kitten and shoot her down. She possible have two or three kitten up 200 to 600 yards away from where Mother climb different Tree to keep hounds away from kitten.

Its tough sport and it hard for Cougars to grow from 150 to 180 lbs for those five county. Very Rarely.  Sometime Big Tom kill Mother and kitten. Thats why I like some houndmen who look for BIG tom. They are somewhere just very FEW.

Charlie, You see this BIG TRAX I skipped for someone else.  Congt to you! You Lucky Bastrd!   :chuckle:

Yes  Correct!  First Cat I helped my father in law. He always wanted to kill one. Finally I Cut this cat and said Oh Nice Cut. Not bad as well. Lets turn loose its Beauitfuly Blue SKY New Snow blanket. WHY NOT! So after I arrival to tree I look at him myself. Permittee hasnt arrival for other 30 min later. I told myself. Nah I wouldnt want to shoot for my permit. So Soon Mark arrival and very excited and said OH Man. He has never seen a such big Cat but to me NOT big but  NICE HEAD! for sure! So after He shot down and I knew myself I was right and its not what I want but  Somewhere....out there for sure.

I know I could possible pull trigger on 140 but I think I possible save it for next permittee who will THANK me for Beauitful Trophy after one more year. He will end up weight 160 lbs. If he live in safe area.

Bio hasnt collared five Cats I Treed!  :chuckle:  :chuckle:  :chuckle:  So FOR SURE one or two BIG Cats out there.

I will work on tree  something and figure out what I am thinking.  :)

Hey Mulehunter, I have not been on here much lately and didn't have time to read all your pages here but it looks like you are having a good time. I wanted to let you know that we have been getting snow over at Colville, so I imagine it's snowing in the OKanagan. Hope you have luck over Xmas, Brian called the hotline and it sounds like only a few cats are left on your quota. Good luck, hope you tree that big one that you want.
