First Archery Kill!
« on: December 02, 2010, 12:00:39 PM »
Well after 2 unsuccessful archery seasons I finally sealed the deal yesterday in the Little Naches.  I spotted this guy bedded down below me about 150 yards away.  Took me over an hour to close the gap to 50 yards... the snow was getting pretty squeaky.  I managed to make a clean 50 yard shot on him while he was bedded down.  He went about 100 yards and bedded down.  I waited about 15 min and began to follow the blood trail, i spotted him and he was definitely going to die, blood everywhere, but i snuck within 25 yards and put another arrow in him and that was that.  I've shot plenty of deer with a rifle but theres something about taking one with a bow that I just can't explain, I'm extremely happy to say the least.

Congrats on a nice first archery kill!  Once you have killed something with a bow its tough to pick up a rifle again.
