id really like to travel up to methow sometime this spring for a weekend. any suggestions, ive never been there before.

There are tons of places to either camp (with amenities or without) or lodge. We have stayed at most places (cabins and motels) up the methow from Pateros to Mazama. As Bone asked give a little more info on what you are looking for (and price range) and we can help. I believe Idabooner lives in Carlton if I am not mistaken?

Wea300mag, thanks for the picks. What "general" area were you in? I am not asking for your honey holes, LOL.
I was hoping to get up into the Volsted creek drainage in the next few weeks if possible. We have some one on here that hit the Twisp area. It would be nice to get a big picture by putting all these scout trips together of how well the deer through out the Methow/Okanogan valleys have held up.

I was above the rifle range outside Winthrop. When I was there, even the shaded areas down low had big snow. The rifle range road was only open about 1/4 mile past the switchback. I went up the Twisp river road to Little Bridge Cr. There were two road kill deer in the ditch but I was there in the middle of the day and didn't see much alive.

Wea300mag- Ever been up to "Merv's Knob?" as Jim use to call it? I love it up there. A bit of a hike but some of my best hunting memories are from up there in that part of the world. Just doesn't seem like there are as many deer up there as there use to be. A lot of two points.
