BAKLAVA
4 cups chopped walnuts or almonds (your choice)
½ cup sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 pound phyllo dough
1 cup butter (melted
12 ounces of honey

Grease 9x13 baking dish.
Mix together chopped nuts, sugar and cinnamon.
Cut phyllo into 9x13 rectangles. In baking dish place 1 sheet of phyllo, brush with butter repeat layers of phyllo and butter (usually 8 layers of phyllo and butter). Sprinkle with 1 cup of nut mixture. Layer phyllo on top of nuts as before and brush with butter and add 1 cup nut mixture. Repeat this about two more times
I use up all the phyllo and generally use a wee more butter. The last of the phyllo is put on top and brushed with butter to cover the nut mixture.
Before placing in oven cut half way through the layers to create rectangles, then cut each rectangle into a triangle (you do this because of the honey you will add after baking).
Bake at 300 F. for 1 hour and 20 minutes.
Meanwhile in a small pan (or do as I do just use the measuring cup and place it near the heat vent on the oven) heat the honey but do not boil.
Pour the honey over the baklava when removed from the oven. Cool completely and cut completely through.

Is there a substitution for the nuts? I would love to have some but I'm allergic.
