Thanks! NE WA 187 Whitetail
« on: December 20, 2010, 08:54:53 PM »
Hey Guys,

I just wanted to thank you for all the nice comments.  It is no secret that there are big whitetails in this part of the state,  but it doesn't come easy. My brother Jeb and I have been hunting together for 20 yrs,  we spend countless hours scouting and checking game cameras.  When it comes time to hunt we are in our stands usually all day long,  which most of you can agree it can be the longest, coldest, most uncomfortable and frustrating days of our lives!  Especially when you get text messages from your buddies stacking up bucks,  and all your seeing are does and spikes.  So you go home kick the dog, wash your clothes, and hit it hard in the morning.  Well on Dec. 5th my time in the stands paid off big time.  This particular stand was one of seven we had spread out up and down Eastern Washington.  We knew there were a few good deer in this area, usually catching them on the cam at night.  We had never seen that buck before and probably never would have,  he completely skirted the camera.  I was able to put an arrow in him at 24 yrds and watched him fall less than 10 yrds away.  The rest is history!  It was truly a moment I will never forget,  and a realization that hard work does pay off.  So to the person who posted this,  thanks,  and don't worry about blurring our faces out I'll gladly be on this site next to that buck!

Jeremy

Congrats!!! It does pay to work hard, eventually. I was lucky enough to have it pay off on a good bull this year.

That 2nd pic above is quite possible the greatest field photo I've ever seen... Wow!

Jeremy,

Well done...that's a buck of a lifetime in any premier whitetail state/province.  I take it Lon wandered out there to capture some images?

:tup:Awesome buck!  I agree with you on the long cold days in the stand, but it payed off.  Sometimes I sit there and think I should be home spending time with the wife and kids.  The experiences of hunting in the outdoors and meeting other fellow hunters is something that we will never forget.
