A bit of dog callin'
« on: December 23, 2010, 04:33:21 PM »
Well, we made it out today, and sure had a good time.

Had some trouble getting some to come in, but finally an opportunity arose! I was stuck behind a dang tree, and didn't have a shot, but my partner had the shot, and he took it.

We saw three together, and this one was fool enough to stop at 376 yards. He went prone, then dropped it, what a nice shot!

Here it is after skinning, why drag the entire carcass out???

Sure hope to make it out again soon!

Sure! but actually it was a lung hit, and she thrashed for a bit, even ki-yi'd, but the other two didn't even slow down, OR look back, they just headed for the far horizons!

I think they had been shot at a time or two before.....

Thanks guys!

Jerry! Yep, not Re-Tired, just Re-tarded! ;)
Gonna try and get out a couple of times next week, we had to hike a ton in the snow today, and it was way warmer than I thought it would be, won't dress so warm next time!

Yessir! 'cept this shooting partner of mine can shoot 1 1/2" groups at 400 yards sitting unsupported! What a dog, he's like a rock. I like to kick him a little when he's shooting, just to make it challenging!

Look who got another dog!

And you won't believe it, he nailed this one at a ranged 370 yards. He missed it at a much closer range, but it stopped at his favorite range.....what a dog!

Boy, we need to get out more!

To add; We made it out today, but the snow was so crusted on top, it was crazy. Did quite the walk in the mountains, seen some great looking country.

Let me just say this....PRAISE THE LORD FOR SNOWSHOES!

They don't help much when you fall though... :'(
