A GOOD DAY!
« on: April 18, 2008, 05:01:02 PM »
Hiked into some higher country yesterday and found a nice muley set! :) What do you guys think it scores? I havent put the tape to them yet but im guessing it will go close to 180.
Can ya see them both?

The other side!

A small forkie!

A small whitetail about 4 yrs old, left it for the squirrels. Usually any whitetail that I find up this high are pretty nice ones.

Last year a buddy picked up a set in this general area that went 211" Non-typical. Have to get back in there and check it out some more, dont hink there has been anybody else in there yet as the roads are still snowed in and I dont believe the other guy will hike straight up for an hour to get to the area.

I put the tape to them today and came up with 183" gross and 178"Net. This is with a 22" inside spread. Pretty good for this area.

They are very nice and symmetrical.  Love th bases.  A nice set.  I wouldn't have guessed 180 at all with the top forks being that weak.  I would have guessed about 16O ish range.
Nice bones for sure.

The G2's are 16 7/8 and 14 5/8 and the G3's are both 7 4/8. Bases are both almost 6". I dont think the pics really do this set justice. The thing I cant figure out for sure is the spread. I went with 22" but a buddy thinks it should be 25" or more. Wont make that much of a difference anyhow the longest MB is only 24 1/2.
