Zach at Rainier Taxidermy by far is the best IMO.  It may take him a little longer than the normal place but you get the best job out there, and the time it takes helps me pay off the mount anyway. He also does meat processing now and his jalapeno Cheddar summer sausage is to die for.

Thank you trophyhunt! i was very upset seeing zach only had one person recommend him. ive grown up with his son and lived less then a mile away being so i have spent countless nights in the shop admiring all his work. if you have seen the beautiful mounts in welchers gun shop thats his work i be leave. He takes longer but the work is worth it. I can not wait for the day i have a Buck or elk worthy of going to him. and the jalapeno cheddar summer sausage... to die for is not an exaggeration. i prefer it with the mozzarella cheese but that's just me. Highly recommend him and his processing. He doesnt advertise at all i think just google or 411 Rainer Taxidermy and it will have his number if anyone is interested.

I first started my hunting career with a dandy 5x5 blacktail buck that my employeer at the time, said deserved the best mount in the area, he took me to Peters Taxidermy, Fred and Jodie do awesome work and that buck is 20 years old this year and still gets compliments! I later went to Zach at Rainier because of a recommendation from John Welcher. Zach at Rainier Taxidermy does great work too, plus his breakfast sausage is the bomb! Both are the standard 14-18 months out. The wait is torture but the work is world class. Two years ago I met Mike White, Natures Way Taxidermy in Spanaway, I immediately liked his work, time frame and price. He has done a Shiras moose and a WT buck, both look fantastic! The buck he is finishing this month...I took it to him in November of 2010!!! I asked why so quick??? his reply was "I picked out a few guys I like who pay on time and don't give me any guff....and wanted to get their stuff done right away for them.." I was tickled!
You can't go wrong with any of these taxidermists. :twocents:

Dave Campbell is simply one of the best fish taxidermist for steelhead and salmon.  Im staring at a 26 1/2 pound native steelhead he did for my dad. Amazing show piece.

Gary Blew is great as well for fish, he did a great job on my bass replica.

Greg tubbs for all of my big game work. Outstanding stuff.

My only mount is an Elk from my Horseback MT trip. Done by Garth at Fidelgo Taxidermy.. Really love his work.. I look forward to shooting a nice duck like a Bull shoveler/Can or something else for my buddy to do... His dad was a Taxidermist, now he just does it for friends and beer.  :chuckle:

Favorite? Wow thats tough, lots of good ones out there. But my favorite animal is Bull Elk, and when I kill one to go on the wall there is not a doubt in my mind it will go to Charlie. All his work is great, but IMO his Elk are amazing.  :)

Don't have a clue on fish.

I would take a bird to WCtaxidermy if I ever get one mounted.

I will likely take my next bear to Michelle Neslon, her rugs look awesome.

My next shoulder mount will likely be done by Bucklucky, unless it is a pronghorn and then I will leave it again with Kim Lutz in Glenrock WY.

I have several shoulder mounts done by Kim, she is expensive and excellent.  I have also had deer mounts done by Greg Tubbs and Dan Yedinak, and am quite happy with both.
As long as we have the habitat, we can argue forever about who gets to kill what and when.  No habitat = no game.

My favorite also happen to be Buzzi and Sandy Cook.  If nothing else, theres never a dull moment and always some lively conversation in the shop, especially if Doug's working!   :chuckle:
