Photo of the month contest 2 part poll
« on: May 01, 2008, 08:39:40 PM »
I am just polling the members on the site to see what they are thinking in regards to our contest.  Not necessarily planning to make in changes in the current format, but want to get a sense of what folks are thinking.  You have 2 votes....one for each part of the poll.

I like the photo of the month contest as it creates something new each month and forces each and everyone of us to get out there and experience something new and share our memories and times in the field!!   And if someone doesn't like to do such an activity, then they are not required to participate so it's up to them!?

I like it the way it is, and one day I will actually enter it.  If nothing else it made me realize what crappy photos I was taking in the field.  I never put much emphasis on it since most of my hunting lately has been taped.  You guys do a great job with it, and there are some real talented folks on here submittin pictures.

I like it the way it is. I think having it themed makes entering photos easier, and I'm sure it probably helps the judging when you are judging a theme.

Like it is, seems to be entertaining and I think 288 said it very well...

I think it's working perfect the way it is.  If there weren't themes it is hard to compare pictures and pick a best photo.  How can a flower picture compare to a 6x6 elk?  Keep some open themed months to keep those that want to post different type pictures and everyone is happy.

I actually thought about that too Slider...  But then I got to thinking, is everyone as nuts as I am and come to this site 2 times a day?  Probably not.  I bet most come at least half as often as I do so they probably think the once a month this is find.  Plus, what would you name it, the photo of the half month award?

I do enjoy the current format. Although it seems as if some of the themes are a month early.

That was hard Red.....you want the pic on the front to kind of coincide whats going on, but folks need to be out there takin pics.   Shedding season really bombed thi year, but that was really because of the weather.
