According to WDFW Enforcement, WAC 232-12-257 is the only place calls are regulated. They claim that (after 4 hours of searching and asking enforcement agents)there are absolutely no restrictions on using hand calls of any kind for any species of bird or game animal. They just cannot be battery operated, elecronically amplified, or reproduced as stated in WAC 232-12-257.

Good question AJ, it even stumped the enforcement agency.

Kind of odd they would spend 4 hours looking for a law that doesn't exist. If calling bears was illegal it would have been in the hunting regulation pamphlet. And we sure as heck wouldn't all be talking on the internet about how we are hunting bears by calling them in if it was illegal!

You just like to argue Bobcat. The point was a question was ask. The question even stumped the enforcement officers.  Of course we all call but no one could state with authority that was legal. I didn't see you supplying the definitive answer.

What if i could prove that the Washington Fish and Game regulations state nothing about calling bears wether legal or Not....But in actual fact it is illegal......?

Is anyone out there curious?

So why would you state that you could prove it if you couldn't?

The second reply was a definitive LEGAL.:
legal

Yes, it may be true that I like to argue, but in this case I don't see where I have argued anything. We all knew calling bears is legal. It's common knowledge, at least with most people on this board. I was simply posting my thoughts is all I was doing, not arguing at all. There's nothing to argue about, calling bears is legal and a call to WDFW sure wasn't necessary. I will just say that it really did irk me the way in which the question was originally posted on here by Coast Hunter. As Curly stated above, the question was answered in the second reply on this thread with just one word: "legal." I also feel that although the popular saying is that there is no such thing as a stupid question, this just might have been the rare exception.
