Evan hooks up
« on: May 03, 2008, 05:34:14 PM »
Went camping over the opener to cranberry lake in hopes for my youngest to land his first fish.  After several attemps he finally pulled it together.

Congratulation Coon Dog, you have a fishing buddy for life. I still remember my sons first fish. Keep him interested, If you don't you will loose him. That is what happened to me. My son is 17 now and goes with me very little now. I think the only reason he does go now is to just appease me. To many more fishing trips to you and your son in the future.  Buck.

Coon Dog, great pic!
Warning, your pole holders are in danger.......I had four of those in my boat and all of them ended up in one lake or another from my kids trying to pull them open to get a fish, LOL. I had to replace them with Fish-on types.
Make sure they are tight!

My son liked the life jacket as well. He wants one for his birthday so he can go out on grandpa's boat.

Cool pic, thanks

I hit up Cranberry on opening weekend (Sunday) as well...
Pulled a pretty little 16" in from the the dock.
They stocked the lake with ~6,000 trout this year, but they're little ones (4.10 fish per lb, IIRC). I was in the academy with a few Rangers at deception pass that have seen a few MONSTERS pulled from Cranberry.

We had planned to hit Heart lake, but it was pretty much shoulder to shoulder.

How old is your son?
My 3yr old niece loves to go to the lake with me and see the "sea monsters" (milfoil and such) that gets caught on my weights.

-Brett
Oh yeah, she likes to "pet" the fish too....  :dunno:
I left it better than I found it...did you?
