I have some .270 Win Woodleigh 150 gr Weldcore PP SN. The Woodleigh website has no reloading data. All it says is the following:

Quote
As a general rule Woodleigh RN and PP bullets generate similar pressures to conventionally constructed soft nose bullets. You can use published data from other bullet and powder manufacturers. For safety, reduce by 5% and work up.

The BC is .463 and the closest thing I found was in the Hornady Manual #7. They have loads listed for a 150 gr SP with a BC of .462. The #1 powder they recommend is H4350 using anywhere from 46.6 gr to 52.3 gr. I am using CCI benchrest large rifle primers and Federal once fired brass. Has anyone loaded the 150 gr Woodleigh in .270 Win? Any loads you can recommend?

I haven't used Woodleighs but I've considered them. They're supposed to be a heck of a good bullet. I've loaded quite a few different 150 grain 270 bullets, and I've had the best luck with H4831, usually 57.5 or 58.0 grains. H4350 is good also, and I've tried it, but couldn't beat the H4831.

Even if I had a load that worked in my rifle, odds are it wouldn't be the best for yours.  When I loaded for 270's all three of them like different loads.  Just pick a powder  4831, 4350 etc. and start working up loads to find the best for your rifle.

Yes I was looking at those heavy 30 caliber Woodleighs also. They're 240 grains, and made especially for 30-06 velocities. Someday I will probably try them. For now I'll just stick with Barnes.

yes, those should be a bomb on elk or bear. i really dig heavy for caliber bullets. if 220's offer straight line penetration, then the 240's orta be really super

Thanks for all your advice.  This is my first time using Woodleigh's.  I normally use the Barnes products.  I think the 130 gr Triple-Shock X is an excellent bullet for the .270 Win.
