Yup! I got to bag an elk today! :)













But I did it with my Trusty Canon 40D and a 400 mm lens! :(

He was pretty good sized as you cam tell in this photo:



He was clear across the field and this photo was taken with a 400 mm lens. The previous photos were taken with the same lens and then I cropped the daylights out of them to get the closer views.

I just noticed the steel fence post. ;) :)

Nope! The Elk photos were taken on the South Skagit Highway up above Presentein Creek. :)

Yea, I've seen them down there too. I have also ran into a group way up in Finney Creek, about half way to Darrington. That group is getting bigger and I think they may have split up. I've also seen em down by Hamilton.

Ive seen that heard a few times on the skagit fishing down by hamilton.  Also seen them just north of sedro as well.
