American Wildlife and Livestock Protection Act, H.R. 509 and S.249

Just received an e-mail from Big Game Forever. Here is a link if you want to send an e-mail to your representatives in your area.

Concerned over the growing momentum behind the American Wildlife and Livestock Protection Act, H.R. 509 and S.249, the environmental community and their champions in Congress have gone on the offensive.
Senator Boxer (D) California and Senator Cardin (D) Maryland have chosen divisive political rhetoric over responsible wildlife management by suggesting the bill sets “a dangerous precedent that undermines the Endangered Species Act and threatens the continued existence of the Gray Wolf across this country.” Sportsmen are being accused of “hysterical anti-wolf hatred” for simply asking the federal government to fulfill longstanding commitments and the promises of the ESA.
Senator Boxer and Cardin, you still don’t get it. Trust the American People, trust local people, not Washington DC Bureaucrats. You can trust the people, the sportsmen, the ranchers, and the state wildlife professionals who have fixed the federal government failures over the last fifty years. Wolves, and all wildlife will be in better hands being managed by the states, than mismanaged by the people who have put our country fifteen trillion dollars in debt and kept our country at ten percent unemployment.
The stage has been set. Anti hunting groups now claim to have sent tens of thousands of emails to members of Congress to slow down this important legislation. It is time for the 65,000,000 American Sportsmen to stand up to the environmental bullies, to protect our rights and to protect America’s wildlife.
Please take 30 seconds and email all of your elected officials using our automated system at

Simply click on “Take Action” and with some basic information the system will automatically email your representatives in Congress. Take a few minutes and get the word out to your friends.

This is important legislation to support. This is a chance for permanent delisting of wolves, and gives management to the states.
Here is a link where you can do a message online that is sent to legislators:

Sportsmen of America,
Today a monumental step forward was made in the wolf delisting effort. Congressman Denny Rehberg (R) Montana and Congressman Jim Matheson (D) Utah sent the attached “Dear Colleague Letter” [pdf] asking every Congressman to support the American Big Game and Livestock Protection Act H.R. 509 and S.249.
Currently these bills have 30 house and senate cosponsors from 16 states. The letter strongly states, “We strongly feel that Congressional action is the only way to protect our rights to responsibly manage wildlife by avoiding further litigation.” We expect many more cosponsors and “yes” votes in the coming weeks.
The anti-hunting groups are sending thousands of emails to defeat this important legislation. Let’s show our Senators and Congressmen the support of 65,000,000 American Sportsmen. Get in the fight.
It only takes 30 seconds to send an email to your entire Congressional delegation using our automated system. Its quick, its easy and its free. Simply visit

and click on the button “Take Action.” With some basic information, the system will automatically email your representatives in Congress.

Inbox this morning...
Folks,
We need your help today and tomorrow. Please call Senator Ben Nelson from Nebraska (202)224-6551. Ask Senator Nelson to join Senator Hatch as a cosponsor of S.249, the American Big Game and Livestock Protection Act.
Senator Nelson is a prominent democratic senator and an avid hunter. Thank him for his leadership on hunting issues in Congress for many years. He is a true champion for protecting the rights of all Americans to hunt and fish.
We need his leadership once again in following the lead of Teddy Roosevelt and others who worked past politics to ensure the future of America’s wildlife. Let’s flood his office with calls of support for joining S.249.

I forgot about this thread and in a hurry posted up another thread, sorry about that, there is a map showing legislators who have signed onto the legislation and there are links to easily click and automatically send messages to your legislators and for inviting your friends to do the same, all a very easy automated system:
