Anyone know if they still have the area around Bear Creek closed? Last year they were pretty quick to shut down large areas anywhere near the fire zone, and really slow to open them back up.

They had it opened up this spring for morel hunting, but I understand they just closed it down again as they are dropping bales of straw, and they don't want the liability of dumping one on someone.  Its an aweful big area, so not sure if they onl close part of it, or the whole darn thing.

Idabooner, is that link broken? I can't seem to get that page? I was able to find this page from your link.

http://www.fs.fed.us/r6/oka/conditions/access-closures.shtml

They do not say (I could not find it if they did) how long these closures would last.

Thanks for the info!

Sorry Alchase, seems to be.  Use your site then open "BAER Closure Map", in blue letters, upper left.  Should show the whole area with the closures marked.
