In WA is there a limit to how many rounds can be in a rifle?
« on: February 26, 2011, 10:51:16 AM »
I am a new hunter fresh out of Hunters ed., I know that when going for birds the shotgun can only be 2+1, but I cant remember if the rifles had a limit on the number of rounds they can hold, I am asking because I have a couple of rifles that can hold more than 5 rounds, and yet are still good for hunting. I just would like a refresher in what is legal here in Washington, as on my first deer hunt I don't want to do something illegal.
Why have one gun when you can have more?

I think there used to be a 5 round cap. max but they did away with it a couple years ago. Take this info at face value and get ahold of the right people at the state an get legit info  :hello:

No limit to number of rounds in rifles, just in shotguns while hunting game birds.  Like you said, your shotgun can not be capable of holding more than 3 shells.

Try being a better shooter instead, it's reckless to just open fire with a mag full of ammo and chase coyotes with it, not to mention irresponsible. Maybe a nice single shot rifle would get you into the right state of mind for real hunting instead of the Rambo'ish attitude  :dunno:

Reckless, irresponsible, and Rambo'ish.

There you have it folks, get a single shot rifle and do some "real hunting"...anything more is just all of the above.

Falfire, you continue to amaze me.

I agree with miles.  I don't see where hunting dogs with a sks is reckless, irresponsible, or Rambo'ish.  How is it different than hunting with an AR?

I don't see the problem either, if it's reckless to shoot in a direction it isn't any less so with a bolt action. I would probably stick with the stock sks magazine myself just for easier handling.
The reason there are so many Ruger upgrades is because they're necessary.
