hoyt proelite for 3d?

I just bought a 2008 Hoyt pro elite with xt 3000 limbs spiral x cams a nap quick tune smart rest. I am going to put a armor tec 5 pin sight. I shoot a turbo hawk now. I have not shot the pro elite yet I will get it next week. I am going to shoot a lot of 3d shoots this year. In your opinion will the pro elite make a better 3d bow than the turbo hawk and why?

Well, It is hard to say which is a "better" 3D bow.
IT partly depends on where your strong and weak points are for shooting 3D.
Your Turbo Hawk is a faster bow, around 320 FPS I believe. Its shorter Axel to Axel may make it slightly less forgiving thought.
The Pro Elite I would put in more of a target bow category then a 3D bow category. Long ATA, large Brace height and fairly slow, but extremely accurate.

So before I would answer which is a better 3D bow for you  I would ask you a few questions first.
What is your draw length?
Are you extremely proficient at judging yardage?
How consistent of a shooter are you?

If you have a 30" + draw length, Hands down shoot the Elite,
But if you have a 27" or 28" draw and struggle with yardage at times, you will not get the speeds out of the Pro-Elite you will need to make the podium.

I personally have found my sweet spot for 3D is around 315 FPS I shoot very accurate at that speed and it is just fast enough to make up for my occasional laps in yardage judgment

I am pretty good at guessing yardage. I am normally within a yard or 3 of what I guessed.  I have a 28 in draw. I was told with my light speed arrows I should get around 300 fps out of the elite. Or have I been told a story. I get around 289 out of my hawk now the way I have it set up.  Thanks for the help

I cant find the exact specs for it, but I believe with the 3000 limbs the IBO speed is around 305 FPS.
With a 28" draw you are going to loose atleast 20 FPS off that 305. I would guess you will end up shooting in the 285 FPS range and that would be with a min weight arrow of 325 FPS.

I used to shoot a Ultra Elite with Spiral cams and XT2000 limbs at 29.5" draw. even with that bow which is a 20 FPS faster bow, and a 1.5" longer draw length I was only able to get about 310 FPS out of it.

The pro Elite is going to be a great shooting bow for you but I would spend a LOT of time practicing my yardage at that speed.
Guys like Levi Morgan and Dan McCarthy that can practice their yardage 8 hours a day are awesome at 3D with a 280 FPS bow, but the average 3D shooter will do better with a bow shooting 310+ IMO

Great shooting bow but its not great 3-D bow.  That bow is a great marked yardage bow.
