Pop up camper
« on: March 02, 2011, 01:47:10 PM »
Hello all, I have a tent trailer that i am outfitting for the up coming camping season out hear in South Dakota.  I am adding additional storage to the front but am looking for things i may have forgotten to put on my list.  I am getting new sleeping bags for all three kids and me and the wife. (feel free to make recommendations on brand/style) we are adding a Big Buddy portable heater that we will run off of the propane tank, solar reflectors from pop up gizmo's.com, a fresh water tank, and two new coolers.  Can you thank of anything else?  Thanks in advance.  Rick

My buddy has one & mounted bike racks on top, pretty cool system for hauling the kids bikes. Not much else to do with them as they are pretty self contained. Have a fun summer. Mike

There is a list of things that I make sure I have in my camper at all times. Just dont know if you are looking for big things or little items also.

I think the Big Buddy header has a built in Co2 detector... Make sure to grease/inspect the wheel bearings and make sure you have a tire iron and spare tire. For small trailers i really like the axle jack that you put under the axle then pull forward to raise the trailer tire for changing...

Oneez,

here is what I do when I get ready.  I break it down to make sure I do not forget anything.

1. Safety - Tires, wrenches, tools, any other odds and ends that will get me up and moving again. First aid kit.
2. Cleanliness - Broom, dustpan, lysol wipes, windex, small rugs for entry point. Toilet paper/ paper towels
3. Sleeping - pillows, blankets, sleepingbags, nightlight ( Chem lights) for the lil one.
4. Entertainment - board games, cards, yahtzee, anything the lil ones might use.
5. Main effort - Fishing/camping/hunting/ Whatever one I pack what I need. Fishing - rods, reels, net, lures, bait just break it down to cover all bases.
6. Staples - Cups/plates/plasticware/ bowls/pans/
7. Chow - To each his own on this my friend.

Hope this helps, the big thing is make a list check it twice and then add more/ bring your list with you and add to it when you discover something is missing.

And the smell of bacon permeates the cloth very well ;)

I have an awning that will pull out over the "door side" of mine. Keeps down a lot of mess, by keeping rain from soaking the area in front of the door.
Get an old floor matt/rug/outdoor carpeting to lay down outside the door for scraping off excess crap before it gets dragged into the camper.

I have wind up LED flashlight so i don't have to hunt batteries... I'm working on installing some LED light for night lighting inside the camper.. Not a big draw on the batterie...
