Only money out of your pocket if they were going to spend it with u. Someone willing to help a fellow hunter put a good tag to use. Sounds like good sportsmanship to me :dunno: :dunno:

Why is it that as a sponsor on this site, I cannot advertise on a thread like this of being an elk hunting guide in the peaches unit to try and make a living, but someone can come on here and advertise giving away the same service I offer thus taking money out of my pocket? :dunno:
UM because offering free service is not advertising  :dunno:

kind of arrogant aren't you Norse?
So what because I don't pay to keep the site up I can't offer someone some help.
Blame the site not me, maybe we hunters, guides what ever should work together instead of against one another........

How is under cutting my business "working together"  why would someone pay to have someone provide them a service when they can get it for free?  Yes, quality is one reason, but most well look at price.  I'm saying that I don't think its right to be publicly offering a service  for fee that a sponsor sells.  Its like you cooking burgers in the parking lot of burger king and giving them away, what would they do?

That's what this whole site is about Norse, I think your missing the point. If a person offers to take someone fishing on here , that doesn't mean the river guide that sponsors on here is getting screwed . I think your being very petty, you may be losing more business with your belly aching than what this guy is going to ever do. Mike

Sounds like a guy is offering to help out other hunter and I really don't see anything wrong with that. I thought that was what this sight was about helping others out  :dunno:

Norse,
I am not bringing up the town of Yakima to guide them. I simply know this area and would love to draw the BULL TAG myself. But if I don't why not help someone that does. When i say HELP I mean find the animal, they shoot it, I help them pack it out. That is if they want me to help that much. I would ask for maybe a beer or a shot of Jim Beam........ and whoot and a holler  and Maybe a big ol thanks....

I too grew up around this area and have lots of friends. Guess what Norse I have even mentioned your name to them if they draw. You seem like a guy who knows his stuff around the area. I have been serving my country for 20 years so I didnt have the time to start a guide service like you have. I would of loved to do that...........

I am the last one that would try to wrok against you and your GUIDE SERVICE, I was just offering help, I think I have alot to share with someone that happens to get this tag........and would enjoy seeing a smile on thier face more than any amount of money they could give me.........my  :twocents:

:cue: Well cooking burgers in the Burger King Parking Lot, HMMMMMMMMMMM, well I say that has no fricken comparison, they (Burger King Owns the property/lease) and they would be a little upset for sure but last time I knew he was offering free advice upon PUBLIC PROPERTY, which we all own last time I knew. I think that the economy has hit you a little hard just like all of us, get off your soap box and chill out we all need to work together to keep our hunting properties and rights, because Lord knows that Queen Bee on the West side would love to see us ( hunters) go away !

Petty Norse,
This site continuosly has guys helping each other out and I am pretty sure that its not about taking your business away when a guy offers to help someone out.  Helping fellow hunters out is a problem???
I guess you also would like to say the guy listing his property for sale by owner is taking business from the real estate guys that sponsor this site also.
In the end by you popping off about this you have probably lost more business now then from just a single hunter drawing that tag and getting help from rtspring.

Hey rtspring thanks for your service.  Did you just retire?  I think its pretty cool what you're offering.  I think I know why you are doing it.  One probably to gain experience for when you guide in the future, Two you love the outdoors.  3 Calling in elk is pretty much the most addicting thing every (I like calling as much as hunting) and 4 you are obviously sincere in helping some people out.  Plus the fun and camraderie that occurs when you hunt with new people.  I applaud you for it.

I can understand why norse is a little bit upset.  Afterall he COULD lose a potential customer.  Which every single customer lost especially when you can only have a very limited amount of customers due to season lenghts, puts a major ding in the pocket book.  But..... norse its a free service on public dirt.  If he was offering to take people out for $200 then yes you would have every right to complain and rightfully so.  Also he'd probably get booted.  But there is nothing wrong with him doing this.

There is an archery shop sponsor on here is there not???  Do you see him get mad on here when people give out free advice on how to tune their bow, when otherwise they'd have to go to a shop like his and pay to have it done??  Or how about when someone recommends they buy a bow that he doesn't sell or from some other bow shop??  How many "customers" or "money" do you think that guy has lost over the years???  I'm just saying its a free country, its public dirt, and its a free service.  Just my  :twocents:
