Your probably right Pathfinder, that's why I'll be putting in for the ML permit.  I like the dates better anyways.

That muzzy permit is hot.  I know a guy here in town that killed a 170" class whitey on that tag.

Sounds like you have bad luck I know guys that religiously draw it every 5th or 6th year, I have the same luck.

I think I agree that the odds and points thing will change now with the new system....however...if you look at the averages up to 2009, both the east and west rifle permits averaged 5.4/5.8 points to draw. I think the muzzleloader ones are the better ones timing wise.
Maybe 10 points won't be a shoe in anymore, but up till now it would have been.

Yup, and that's my point.  Everyone will be putting in for it, knowing that it really is a "quality" hunt, even though it isn't being billed as such... And there aren't enough good hunts being offered in the "Buck" category of similar quality to take the pressure off it...

I'm seriously considering going muzzy this year just for the fact that the general season can catch the end of the rut and if you know land owners a guy can have a heck of a hunt without drawing! when I went on  a muzzy hunt last fall I was really impressed
