i remember the days of baiting here in washington.   :bash: those were some fun times, i wish it was back. there is nothing like the smell of a good bear bait in the morning. but all my bear came  in , in the evening.

Helping a buddy bait this weekend. He had tried to get in last weekend but there was still too much snow.

For you Idaho bear baiters ive got a good recipe for ya. BEAR CRACK
Mix together syrup and half a pack of instant jello on a stove until hot (may have to be one of your wifes metal bowls that she doesnt want back). When thats hot mix in some marshmallows and about a cup of sugar until all is melted and mixed. All you have to do is pour it on a stump or some popcorn and you have BEAR CRACK! Oh and one more thing, unless you are putting this on your popcorn at home and then dumping it you have to pour it while its hot for best results and yes that means right at your bear stand with your portable backpacking stove so it might be wise to have a lookout because when their hooked on the crack, their hooked!
Aim small, miss small.
