Ground hog hunting

Anyone been hammering the ground hogs yet? I have shot 16 so far! Won the savage 17 at the spokane big horn show this year and i have put it to good use so far

i really wish i have been! ive only ever done it down in central and southern oregon. where can a guy get into the in WA?

I wait until the end of May to give the litters of pups time to get out on their own.  Shooting a female now means a litter will starve to death in the burrow.  Unless they are causing damage to crops, I don't think there is any rush to shoot them.

Yeah they are all on a farm i used to work at, they have been chewing on the end of the sprinkler pipes and just causing problems so the ranch owner called me up to do a little terminating

Yeah,  some of us were supposed to go to an orchard that was inundated with them last sunday, but the wind and cold canceled the trip.  I've seen the buggers climb trees to get to the buds.

Never used a firearm for prairie dogs.  When I was young my dad took me out to my grandmother's alfalfa field where they were just terrorizing her crops and starting to make their way towards her grape field.  He showed me how to use water, a big knife and a metal grate.  I tell you my grandmother's cats and guard dogs never ate so good in their lives!  We did that for a couple of days and my grandmother didn't have a problem for quite a few years after that.

YA,  I HAVE THE GUN SIGHTED IN AT LIKE 170 YARDS...  LOL  AND ITS A .22 LR.  AND MY AVERAGE SHOTS ARE 20-70 YARDS,  SO I HAVE TO SHOOT WAYYYY UNDER TO HIT THE SAGE RATS,...  KINDA A GUESSING GAME AT HOW LOW I NEED TO AIM..  I NEED TO ZERO IT IN AT LIKE 50-60 YARDS..

I would if I could find some sage rats outside the city limits. I found a bunch of ground hogs but they were inside park boundrys. I've been thinking about heading over to Idaho to shoot sage rats
