Walter Sobchak: Also, let's not forget - let's *not* forget, Dude - that keeping wildlife, an amphibious rodent, for uh, domestic, you know, within the city - that ain't legal either.
The Dude: What are you, a f**king park ranger now?
Walter Sobchak: No, I'm...
The Dude: Who gives a sh*t about the f**king marmot!

THIS IS A YELLOW BELLIED MORMOT,  NOT PROTECTED,  YOU'RE THINKING ABOUT THE HOARDY (SPELLING) MARMOT  WICH LIVE IN THE MOUNTAINS AND ARE PROTECTED

marmot, groundhog, sage rat, rockchuck, woodchuck, etc all kinda the same critters ...the hoary marmot ( really awesome name) that lives in the mountains is protected..... most the others are considered pests...but that still doesnt mean they arent cute  :)

I had a hoary girlfriend one time but she wasn't as cute, unless I was drinking.  :chuckle:
