New special permit points ?
« on: April 13, 2011, 08:25:42 PM »
So last year any points you had were added to each permit you bought. I am switching back to modern this year, will my points be available for any permit I choose ie big bull antlerless ect? Or will I be starting at zero in any category I didn't apply for last year?  Thanks

Anything you had before last year will still be there in all categories except those you drew in last year. (As far as I can tell anyways, I put in for all categories I was eligible for last year)

Last year they distributed the points you had for each species into all the new categories. It wasn't that the points went into the categories in which you purchased an application. They went into ALL categories. And it makes no difference whether you applied for archery, muzzleloader, or modern firearm hunts. The points are species specific, not weapon choice.

You will have the number of elk points you accumulated prior to 2010, in the anterless elk category. If you had purchased an application in that category last year, then you would simply have one additional point.

I think the only categories they cut your points for are those you weren't eligible in. (e.g. Youth, Disabled, 65 yrs and older)

So elk, did you put in for cow tag last year? As I understand it you had to apply last year to the catagories that you wanted your points in...

No that's why I was asking. I thought that too a but apparently not. I guess I'll know for sure when I buy them.
