Eastside Whitetail permit

I always put in for the mule deer permits that you never get drawn for like alot of other people. You guys think there are any late whitetail permit hunts that compare to the top mule deer permits? Never have applied for any, but I thought I would see what you guys think.

You got to hunt hard and put up with a lot of big mulies that you cant shoot, but the late palouse tag is excellent. Scout it well and get in a ways and you can be really really picky. If I was a rifle hunter I would apply for it.

Okanogan East would be a good choice if you knew where to go, it's a large unit. I've thought of putting in for it, but some of the places I have a higher interest level in just happen to be closer to home.

if you don't care what kind of deer you shoot there are some good WT hunts that are easier to draw then the mule deer hunts but the harvest success rates are lower 30-40% averaged for WT vs 75-85% for mule deer

And let me tell you, seeing them BIG Muleys and not being able to do anything about it will give you many a sleepless night!

The Palouse tag is a good one to get if you have access to some private land. A buddy had it last year and he scored on a nice heavy 5 x 5, taken on private land.

I would think the tags down in the blues would be good as well.

My buddy drew that East Okanogan tag a couple years ago. There are some nice bucks over there atleast by Wauconda.
