I've seen deer in the woods.  Normally don't see deer in the woods unless the rut is coming early.  Everyone get prepared.

Not really.  I just wanted to be the first to post a "Rut is comoing early" thread for 2011  :chuckle:

I want data!! And proof. Did you take the color hue test, you sure it was not a big dog with antlers?  :tung:

I don't think a year has gone by without someone posting that the rut is early this year!

But this is definitely, by far, the earliest I've seen it.    :chuckle:

Do you want to get the first threads of the year for:  the high hunt, who can't wait for the opener, and so how'd everyone do, too? :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle:

Saw a buck on the way to work this week that had been fighting.

He lost his battle with a large vehicle.   He was popped like a dropped watermelon and stiff.  Drug him out of the road and noticed that he was starting nubs of antlers.

I'm so excited for the high hunt.  Heading up to the Alpine this weekend for some scouting.  My spot is about 7000 feet but I should see lots of deer there this weekend.  I'm sure that they've migrated up there already.

I'm always looking for new spots for the high hunt, so does anyone have any spots they can send me in the Alpine where they never see any other hunters and just huge bucks?  My brother and six cousins are looking for a new place to hunt and we want to make sure that we're not getting crowded by anyone.  I'm not asking for your honey hole.
