Unfortunate Binocular Accident!!!
«
on:
April 23, 2011, 04:17:57 PM »
Was loading up all of our turkey gear Thursday in preparation for what would end being an unbelievable turkey hunt. I had forgot to lock the front door so I set my Bushnell binos on the hood of the truck before walking back to the house. Seconds later I hear the unmistakeable sound of my binos falling to the ground. To my disbelief, they cracked right down the middle of the hinge. I should have known better. My question: Am I SOL or do I stand a chance that the hinge is repairable. Any help would be awesome.

Unless they were a good pair of binos, meaning high quality, then it would be a good excuse to upgrade to something nice, like Nikon, Swarovski, Leica, Meopta... Binos are one of those places where it pays not to skimp.

You don't need a flatter shooting rifle or a larger caliber. What you need is good field marksmanship. Jeff Cooper.

If they are really nice they may have a forever warranty (stupidity included) never hurts to call manufacturer

Thanks for the advice guys. I contacted Cabela's and they credited me the original sale price that I paid three years ago with no questions asked. Since they no longer carried the model I had purchased, I used the credit to help upgrade to a nice pair of Leupold 10x42's. Maybe one day I'll be able to afford the Leica's. Thanks again for the recommendations.

Losing my cheap, $20 pair of 10x25s my first hunting season was the best think that happened to me. Went out and bought me some Nikon Monarch's and I was happy with those for five years. Now I've got the Nikon EDG
