Eastside trout opener

Just looking for a fishing report for my dad. Has anyone fished Diamond, Waitts, Jumpoff Joe, or any other lakes around the Spokane area? My dad tried Diamond from the shore openener early and only had people sit on his lap from the public area. Thanks for the info.
