elk for lunch

I am sitting here eating some ground elk quesadillas and it got me thinking about how much I love elk! This weekend we had some elk steaks on the bbq that were amazing too.  :drool: Pretty sure I could eat it every day.

Made elk fajitas the other day...green red peppers, onions, salsa...cant go wrong with that!

Between the elk, deer, halibut, salmon, cod, clams, shrimp, turkey and grouse we get throughout the year, I have not bought meat in 7-8 years. I'm probably the last person you will ever hear complain about license fees in WA. I definitely get a large return on my license fees. And yes, I love eating all of it. Learning to cook the wild meat is the key.

hahahaha right on definately sounds like my house for sure... to bad we blowed threw 3 deer already... usually grind up 2 because I NEVER EAT GROUND MEAT FROM THE STORE and those poor B-----ds that buy salmon from the store have no Idea what fresh salmon tastes like ......THATS WHAT HUNTING IS ALL ABOUT ( PROVIDING TASTY ANIMALS FOR YOUR FAMILY) BUT all the other dumb..... think we just kill to kill ... whatever ! All and the way this site is I best say I have two sons who harvest too so thats how we get three deer ...  :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle:

Too funny.  My wife will not eat store bought beef hamburger anymore, says it tastes rotten to her.  We eat nothing but venison burger that we grind ourselves.  And then there's the fresh, fried razor clams lately.  Man those are good.

I had elk burgers two nights ago and had elk tacos last night and elk sausage with my eggs this morn...I've got elk pepperoni in my lunch today.... mmmmmmmmm
