any of you guys with zipper problems ever had them redone? ive had an old white stag, light canvas tent for about 20 years, had it rezipped twice for about $50 a pop. the fabric & seams are about done after last years elk hunt but the last zipper job has held up well. if you really like your tent and its only a zipper its a cheep fix
Where did you get your zippers redone! I called Coleman and they said everything is made in Taiwan now and they do not sell replacement parts.  :bash:
If I could get the zippers sown I could get years more out of this tent.

That thing is HUGE!  I went to cabelas this weekend to take a look, they had one set up, unfortunately we don't need the biggest size, they didn't have any 4 or 6 man ones.
And Alchase, they didn't have the other one you posted that you were looking at.  I had high hopes of coming home with one but decided to wait.

We're pretty close to buying this one: http://bit.ly/lP4SG6 Being able to set it up by myself, in the dark is pretty darned appealing. Plus we have a baby and all her gear, so we need the bigger size...

Looks like a good one.

Be advised, I have personally seen two different "instant tents" colapse! One was in Winthrop during hunting season. The other was at Sunlakes State Park with minimal wind.

Yeah, I worry about  that too, especially with a little snow/wind... That's why I'm leaning (pun intended?) toward the Columbia. It's the same rigging as the 10x10 shelter I have, which has held up wonderfully.

I wanted to quickly followup on this thread. I bought the Coleman I linked to above this weekend. And, it sets up in a minute as advertised. Stowing is great as well as you just collapse the poles and then wad it up. It's not an intricate work of origami like our other tent.

Taking it out this weekend to see how it does in Pend Oreille.

There's a 10x16 Coleman Weathermaster on special at Costco this month for 145.00. If I needed a tent, that would be it.

Thanks for the heads up.  I took my old coleman out this past weekend cause I couldn't find anything I wanted in time.  One thing I did notice that I still want is the tub style tarp bottom because it hasn't leaked a bit.  Probably a better rain fly to cover the windows.  Another problem is the dog.  Hair all over the place so two rooms would be good.
