Hey I have almost max pints for mule deer and Im not whining because I havent drawn. To me drawing a special permit is a bonus not a gimmie. I dont want to know when I am going to draw a tag, I like being disapointed every year to see that I havent drawn just to see someone with 3 points draw instead  :chuckle: Hell you should loose all your points for killing that monster general season Muley last year  :chuckle:

I think we ahould have points for the lotto too, thats a good idea that way I can eventually win 8)

I would rather do away with points and be like new mexico where everyone has the same chance, makes sence to me.

I personally like the system.  It has its ups and downs but would not want it like any of the other states. Well maybe like idaho where you pick one species for the special permits. If you want a good chance with a few points then pick one of the easier to draw units.    I enjoy the reg. season and if I draw a special permit its awesome but definitely dont count on it!!!

It's a draw people!  You put your name in the hat along with 1000's of other hunters and hope you get drawn.  Their is no gimme.  That is just stupid!

I hope those that are complaining don't get drawn again this year.  You don't deserve to.

I wouldn't mind a system that increased the odds for those with over 10 or 12 points. Why couldn't they have a different multiplier for those over X amount of points instead of the standard squaring? It would increase the odds of those with the most points but still gives the rest a chance. :twocents:

How much better of a chacne do you want I mean 16 points squared is how much better than 12 squared? Its a better chance I think people should be happy with that.

:yeah: Thats the system I wish we had! Oregon's is like that!

The difference is that in Oregon, when you don't draw, you don't hunt. Here in Washington, you still have the general seasons to fall back on.

I don't disagree- I'm just pointing out the facts. I like the way Oregon does things too. I've said many times on here I wish we could be like Oregon, with their permit only rifle hunting for mule deer, and with most elk hunting on the east side being permit only, except for archery. But for some reason people in this state think Oregon's system wouldn't work here.   :dunno:
